ZX-Uno broken?
Hi,
my ZX-Uno seems to have a problem
It worked properly for weeks, I made no update, only put it away for some month.
Yesterday I wanted to play a little around with it but the screen was black on bootup.
Then I tried composite with no success. But when I connect a joystick to it, press the button and up on startup, I get a Screen that tells me "ZX-UNO Spectrum core is loaded. Now trying to boot from BIOS..." and "You shouldn't see this screen for more than half a second".
That's all, nothing more happens. What can I do?
Thanx for help.

Re: ZX-Uno broken?
I saw this message, long time ago. If I remember correctly, when my RAM IC was faulty. So i replaced the SRAM integrated circuit. But anyway you can try to restore flash firmware first.retroMonger escribió: ↑18 Ago 2020, 01:19Now trying to boot from BIOS..." and "You shouldn't see this screen for more than half a second".

Re: ZX-Uno broken?

Re: ZX-Uno broken?
After my initial post...
...I could load the Firmware from PC to ZX-Uno with the ear connector, Winamp and TAP-Plugin.
The ZX-Uno lived again and I was very happy. I tried ZX-Spectrum and C64 cores with no problems.
...but than I put off the power connector, connected it again and saw the testimage again. This time I had not to press up and button on joystick during startup of the ZX-Uno.
And now the ZX-Uno doesn't load anything via ear connector. It has a brown border and no reaction. Only the ScrollLock Key works correct.
I have an USB-Blaster (ordered together with the ZX-Uno) but the USB-Blaster has 2 x 6 pins and I read about 2 x 5 pins in the ZX-Uno manual.
The second problem is, that I can't install the driver for the USB-Blaster on Windows 10 (and also on Windows 2000).
I'm more a programmer than a cable and chip solderer. I have two left hands for such work.
It's a pity that such niche peace of hardware seems to be broken after that short using time.
I now bought a ZXDOS+, perhaps I'm more lucky with it.
Thanx to all for trying to help me.
