Is there a Power On/Off header on the PCB?

Mensaje por Higgy » 09 Ene 2017, 10:04

Hi,

I have fitted a reset button, and have attached a HD-15 socket to my case (I will post pictures later) for SCART/VGA connection. But I am now looking to see if a On/Off switch can be added? - is there a connection on the PCB? There seems to be a power related header, but is this for battery power?

On ebay there are MicroUSB-MicroUSB leads with a switch, but they are nearly 10 euros. I prefer to hack with my soldering iron

I only need to turn off/on when changing the SDcard, but a switch will save me having to crawl on the floor to the mains plug!

Thanks.

Hi,

There is a connector for a jumper right behind the USB marked PWCON, you can put a switch there.

Thanks.

So it needs to be a switch (closed for power off) rather than a button?

A job for this evening :)

I have found USB cables with switch for less than 2 EUR on ebay/aliexpress. I think that is the best solution.

Yes, it should be a switch. There are switches that look like buttons though (those that you push once for one, once for off).
