Why every .ROM file is pair with one .XPC file?

Sometimes I used a USB port of my PC for PSU of my ZX-uno!
PC USB port have a limit of 500mA, so any charger over 0.5A will be OK.
I have took a USB cable with ON/OFF switch to save my connectors from plug/unplug!
