@bakoulis

No, that's not correct.

The core has not CGA compatibility. It only has MCGA/VGA 320x200x256 13h and EGA 320x200x16 12h, and modeX and 80x25 text mode.

The only "CGA" thing it has is the FONT. It is only 2k. The VGA font is 4k, and it was replaced to free some FPGA resources (mainly LUT Ram).

Before your comment, I thought the VGA modes was removed!
Try to choose the English translation at the first post of author and see what it translate!
The "google translate" makes the descriptions of cores like a nightmare.
Some day, all descriptions of cores must edited at pure English.

Implementing CGA is most likely possible, the question is who is going to do it :-)

It's good to know. I will translate the release notes to english in future versions.

I did some little experiments before releasing this version but I have no time right now.

Hi

I was just saying that because if it's not possible to add more recent games... maybe its possible to add more older games! :)

HI

I'm trying the games on the list that is on the other thread... and also trying other games...

I have some questions:
- from what i've seen there are 3 tested OS: PCDOS 3.1, PCDOS 7.0r1 and MSDOS 6.22 . The games were tested in which OS? Is the OS important for game run/do not run?
- If a game misses the lower part of the screen (back to the future 2), the problem is VRAM, like some games that doesn't run? how to solve? more ram in zxuno? bigger fpga? addon with something else?
- when a game does some flickering in the bottom (indy 500) or in the top (back to the future 3), the problem is also vram?
- how to know the graphic mode if the game doesn't tell us?

are this problems fixable or are we in the most optimized xt core?

The missing lines at the bottom are due to not enough RAM inside the FPGA, so only a larger/better FPGA can solve that. It's not possible to use board RAM (wether it is internal or external) for VRAM.

The only way to check graphic mode is run it in dosbox or a DOS PC machine, it's generally easy to identify if it's using VGA, EGA or CGA. Still, remember that some games were using non-standar VGA features (i.e. Pinball Fantasies) that are not supported by this core, so it may look like VGA/MCGA and then don't work at all.

humpf :(

stupid idea: not possible to add an "external graphic card" connect to the expansion port? :)
